Match report At 12.15pm on the way to Chelmsford (who actually play in Galleywood), I received a message saying that Jack Axon was ill and was unable to play. Tried 3 players, but at that time of day nobody was available, but upon arriving at the ground Millie Longman who had come along to watch her boyfriend Oliver Licence, agreed to play.

Chelmsford won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Facing some good line and length bowling Eight Ash Green found scoring quickly very hard to do. A stand of 49 between Felix Friedlein and Ethan Wyatt for the 3rd wicket was the highlight of the innings. A total of 119 for 8 was realistically never going to be a big enough score to defend.

Eight Ash Green fielded in constant drizzle/rain, until it got very heavy and we decided to go off for a little break with the score at 83 for 3 from 15 overs, until the rain slowed down. Once play resumed with a wet outfield Millie Longman who we had cobbled kit together to be able to play, only had trainers and did not take the field of play again, as had been slipping on the wet outfield due to us playing in the rain.

To get the match finished Ethan Wyatt bowled spin and Daryl Sleeman bowled off a couple of paces. Chelmsford scored 120 for 3 from 20.5 overs.

Chelmsford gave us no credit for persevering to play in the rain.

Once again the Chelmsford scorecard is not right.
