Senior Section

EAGCC fields four senior cricket teams; two Saturday men's XIs, one ladies' XI and a Sunday XI.

The men's First XI play on Saturdays in The Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Division 4. Our aim is promotion to Division 3. The Second XI also play on a Saturday in Division 8 of the Two Counties league. Combining promising youth players with our experienced veterans the team aims to provide a balanced introduction to senior cricket for younger players. The Sunday XI, which competes in the North Essex Cricket League is more of a Development XI with a greater emphasis on younger players. The ladies' team play in a local T20 league on Friday nights. We have men's and women's teams in indoor leagues over the winter.

Key to our success is the systematic introduction of younger players from the youth section.  We are also keen to recruit new players at 1st XI level and will be pleased to hear from anyone interested from home or overseas.  Please get in touch.

Outdoor training takes place at the club on Thursday evenings, depending on the weather and the use of the ground for junior matches. Indoor training takes place at Holmwood House School early in the New Year.

  • Availability via the web site should be completed as soon as possible - it is the players' responsibility to update their availability on the website by the Monday before weekend games.
