Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Two Counties 1st XI (Saturday) v Kelvedon & F, II on Sat 22 Jul 2017 at 13:00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won by 107 runs

Match report Kelvedon's Nunn the younger may have won the inter-family battle, but it was the Green's Nunn the elder who wore the broader smile as the home team swept to a comprehensive victory to keep the pressure on Stowmarket at the top of the table.
Having lost the toss it was a surprise to be invited to bat, but skipper Keith continued his rich vein of form with a stylish 68, ably supported by 20s from Joe, Alex, Norro and Woody. Strangest dismissal of the day belonged to Alex who thought he'd hit another four so was casually returning to his crease as the fielder whizzed in a return after a fumbled stop near the boundary - is it me or does Alex seek ever more bizarre ways of losing his wicket just when he looks like taking apart the bowling attack?
A final score of 199-7 looked to be too many for a Kelvedon side who had allegedly left most of their batsmen at home (5 number 11s was quoted by an unnamed source) and so it proved as our visitors succumbed to another dominant bowling performance: Mark picked up 3 and could have had more, Matt & Woody grabbed one apiece while Sam earned his man of the match beer (courtesy of Colchester Brewery) with a burst of sustained hostility in taking 4-9. Kelvedon's batting highlight was provided by the aforementioned Nunn the younger who played what I thought was a very responsible knock before walking to a leg before appeal from Sam.
Another good day for the Green, well done chaps.
