Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won By 79 Runs

Match report The Green made it 3 wins out of 4 in a match they dominated against top of the table Boxted. Without a cloud in the sky, the Green were surprisingly put in to bat and despite an opening blitzkrieg from the Boxted bowlers, Stephen Nunn and Joe Young put on 52 for the first wicket before Nunn departed for 16. Young continued going strong bringing up his second 50 of the weekend before falling shortly afterwards. Jack Smith (29) and Alex Hammond (25) kept the runs ticking over before Richard Nunn finished of the Greens innings with an aggressive 64 including 7 4's and 2 6's as the Green ended on 241 for 7.

Boxted's innings started strongly, amassing 44 on for the first wicket before Nunn (3-23) blew the top order away putting the Green firmly in control. Tight bowling from spinners, Murray and Wair ensured the pressure remained firmly on Boxted who continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. A wicket for Lee and two comical run outs finished the innings with Boxted 79 runs short. The win completed a brilliant weekend for the Green with all 3 teams recording very impressive victories.
