Match report Everyone knew high flying Kirby would be a challenge for EAGCC 2s as we made the trip towards the seaside on Saturday. However expectation was still in the air coming off our first win and a clinical batting display the weekend before.

The day did not start well when in the warm up the Kirby players manged to smash a window on Ajulas Car. Things went from bad to worse when, after being put into bat, the Kriby openers were rolling along at over 8 an over after 10 for no loss.

However, at 12 overs in Licence got an important breakthrough leaving Kirby 97-1. This then set off a classic eight ash green style collapse from our hosts with Licence picking up 4 more wickets, completing his 5-fer off the last ball of his impressive spell (5-50).

Dispite 3 or 4 uncharacteristic dropped catches from the second team the feilding performce was still another postive overall.

The Kirby tail couldn't pick Guthries bowling at all as he swept up the tail very effectively (4-15), leaving us 166 chase to win at tea.

Training for batting practise amongst other skills is available Tueaday nights 6pm onwards for training.

Also as youth fixtures are finishing many evenings at the green there is space and we will shortly be able to use the wheel on net to the square for even better batting practise. Lots of people seem to be willing to net so watch the WhatsApp groups for people being about or suggest a net session yourselves, I'm sure someone will want to join you. All practise is good practice.
