Match report The Green continued their fine start to the season with a 3 wicket victory over Ardleigh. Games at Ardleigh are never full of runs and today’s was no different with only 200 being scored in more than 70 overs of cricket. Losing the toss and being asked to field, the Greens opening bowlers Nunn and Goodall kept things incredibly tight with Goodall bowling his 10 overs straight for only 10 runs. It was Nunn however, that got the crucial breakthrough of Lamont for just 3 off a painstaking 37 balls. The rest of the innings failed to ignite with Ardleigh struggling to an excruciating 98 off their 45 overs. Nippy playing his first game of the season taking 3-29 and Nunn finishing with 3-13.

Despite only needing just over 2 an over, the Green batsman made life incredibly difficult for themselves. Despite S Nunn and Marston putting on 31 for the first wicket a classic Green collapse ensued with a nervous finish on the cards. However Nunn carried his bat for 28 in an innings that would have cured even the most extreme case of insomnia. He was well supported by brother Richard (12) and Charlie Lovejoy (16) with the Green chasing down their target in the 32nd over.
