Match report We had a delayed start due to 3 of the Galleywood players stuck on the A12, so ended up starting at 1.30pm. Duncan Wyatt won the toss and elected to bat with a clear blue sky and the sun beating down.

Eight Ash Green starting eleven had 7 teenagers, who all got a chance to bat from number 2 to number 8. Eight Ash Green got off to a poor start and were 9 for 2 from 4.1 overs, but then Felix Friedlein scored his maiden senior cricket fifty and Jack Axon 58 runs built a steady partnership of 103. During their partnership we had the unusual accurence of Shehryar Islam throwing the ball on every delivery, which was noted by ourselves and Galleywod spectators, which resulted in a chat with captains and umpire and being withdrawn from bowling. When Felix was out acceleration was required and next batsman Ethan Wyatt provided it hitting 2 6's and 6 4's in his score of 43 from 29 balls before needlessly running himself out, but his innings helped us post a respectful score of 189 for 6 from 40 overs.

Oscar Spence opened the bowling and produced good bowling figures of 3 for 27 from 7 overs, with 2 wickets coming from 2 good catches taken by Luke Coppin and Ethan Frost. Galleywood's scoring rate started to increase, but then Felix Friedlein and Ethan Sutcliffe bowling in tandem managed to drag the scoring rate back. Eight Ash Green then took three crucial wickets with Shehryar Islam taking on Ethan Wyatt's throwing arm from the deep to be run out, quickly followed by 2 catches taken by Duncan Wyatt. Galleywood scored 176 for 9 from 40 overs. Every player played their part in a great team victory to win by 13 runs.

At the end of the match Galleywood were very complimentary about our young players.

I obviously cannot score whilst fielding, which means the Galleywood batting innings does not add up correctly, it has taken me 2 hours to get it to this.
