Match report A ten-person EAG 2nd XI side took to the field against unbeaten league winners Woodbridge on an overcast day. Woodbridge have batted most teams into submission this season and with 60 runs on the board from the first 6 overs it looked like the Green were next in line for a battering. To the Greens credit they showed some great fight in the field and started to exert a modicum of control. The run rate dropped and wickets started to fall regularly. Notably Thomas Griffiths, more commonly seen in our under 14 team, bowled two very tidy spells taking 4 wickets for 37 off his 10 overs. This included bowling the dangerous Australian who has scored over 700 runs for Woodbridge this season - only the second time he has been out this season! Woodbridge ended on 244 - 8.

The Green reply was slow and steady with momentum coming from the mighty bat of Richard Polley. Ably supported by Tom Lee (34) Richard scored an excellent 84. Although the Green never threatened the Woodbridge score, their total of 170-8 was a respectable effort.
