Match report The final Second XI league game of the season saw a continuation of good recent form with a convincing 135 run victory over Witham IV.

EAG batted first, a rarity for this season, and posted a season high 259-9 off their 40 overs. Jack Axon's 110 not out was a sight to behold. This knock now sits atop the best score for an EAG player this season and he'd still be batting now if the game allowed it. He was ably supported by 36 from Ethan Frost who has matured into a terrific player and James Woodcock (27 runs) who remains an exciting, emerging talent at the club. Despite getting his career best score last week, Dev Agrawal couldn't convince the skipper to move him up the order and his 6 runs from 1 ball to end the innings was a moment of defiance to the selectors.

When Witham batted EAG exerted some control over the top order and Nitja Patel's 3-16 in the first 4 overs effectively ended the game as a contest. Witham were bowled out for 124 in the end giving EAG the full 20 points.

In a season of two halves EAG won 5 of their last 6 games to finish with a winning record for the first time since the promotion season of 2019.
