Match report This felt like a moral victory against high-flying Elveden. An excellent fielding display in the heat kept Elveden down to 232-9. In his first game of the season Player of the Match Jens was pick of the bowlers with 4-33. At one stage it looked as if we might keep them to under 200.

Elveden's bowling was hard to put away at first but once Jack and JP got going the scoring rate accelerated and we ended up just 20 runs short with JP leading the way with 90 not out (including no fewer than 10 sixes) and Jack not far behind on 80 not out. They had put on 171 together, Elveden spent much of the last 20 overs hunting for the ball in the long grass and came off the field at the end looking more like the beaten side. So, a defeat for the Green but much to be proud of, It can't be long before our first win.
