Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won by 111 runs

Match report A comfortable win for the 2's, with Bevin Guthrie batting Mersea out of the game by hitting his first century for Eight Ash Green, and his 1st in England. Bevin hit 14 4's and 2 x 6's before saving Mersea more punishment by retiring on 106. Duncan Wyatt & James Plummer carried on hitting 41 & 34 respectively and the Green posted an imposing total of 275.
Mersea found the pitch to their liking scoring 164 in reply and only losing 4 wickets, seven bowlers were used in trying to prise out the Mersea batsman. Wickets for Ethan, Connor and Christian Martin playing in his first senior match, these three youth players along with Troy and James doing the bulk of the bowling in the extreme heat at the Green. Despite the heat the fielding was good in particular it was good to see Luke Keeble back patrolling the covers.
