Match report Early starts are obviously good for the Green as an almost complete performance saw victory achieved soon after 1pm, with 10 wickets in hand.
The bowlers all created problems for the visitors, with Oli coming up the hill and claiming three of the top four, while Sam, making his season debut, grabbed a brace as he steamed in from the top end. Oli's figures could have looked even better, missing out on a potential hat-trick as Jamie put down a chance at short cover (a dolly according to some). Along came Matt & Keith to share the remaining wickets, Matt's three could have been four, but for a missed catch off his own bowling - another dolly arguably and so by midday the first innings of the match was over and Maldon were 85 all out.
Porky & Stuart opened for the Green and took less than 12 overs to knock-off the runs. Porky was relatively quiet for once, with a pedestrian strike-rate of 68, but Stuart showed him how it was done with another faultless display in reaching an unbeaten 55; I'm running out of superlatives to describe Stuart when he's at the crease, but we can add poise and pugnacity to the lexicon this week - can you tell I love to watch Stuart bat?
