Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won by 72 runs

Match report Following up from last week's win, the EAGCC 2s went into this game in a positive manner. A sound start was made with AJ blitzing his way to 30 before Neil sparked a collapse in which the Green lost their first 5 wickets for 81 runs - thankfully Richard Polley and Alex Hammond stayed together for a 93 run partnership before Alex was caught for 34. Richard eventually holed out for a heroic 93, whilst Matt Norris and Ollie Stovell pushed the total to 223 for the second time in as many matches.
A large score gave the stretched bowling attack something to have a crack at, and whilst the openers played their shots, missed chances were an issue. After drinks, however, some tight bowling led to the breakthrough, coming from the addition of spin as Ollie Stovell removed one opener, AJ breaking the other's resolve eventually too.
From then on wickets tumbled with Will Spicer bowling beautifully for his 2 wickets and AJ getting another whilst good work in the field caused a run out for Luke. Matt Norris's tidy two overs aided the side's win massively after a counting error on the skipper's part. Matt Parker continues his plight for a wicket this season despite an impressive start.
