Match report Pirates enjoyed their social match against tourists Arcadian Casuals. Sam Pace captained and his team bowled well on a very lively wicket allowing POW Jamie Murray to take 3 catches (it would have been 5 if his dad was taller). They were however still set 205 off 40 overs thanks to a century from M Akdaddy (who Sam dropped early on).

The Pirates started shakily with Ollie Stovell getting a golden duck but Jonathan Purser batted with real maturity for 58. Not many Pirates managed to do likewise so it was left to final pairing of Dom Purser and Nathan Crame to get within shouting distance with a record-breaking unbeaten 56 partnership.

The result was a draw. A great afternoon’s cricket.
