Match report The Green welcomed Ardleigh to Fordham Heath for the last home game of a frustrating season. Having lost the toss and being asked to field the Green got off to the perfect start as Richard Nunn trapped opener R.Cole plumb in front with the first ball of the match. Despite scoring at a tediously slow rate, Ardleigh managed to put on 50 for the second wicket before Matt Parker produced the ball of the day clipping the top of off stump to remove Bland for 18. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals as the visitors struggled to 150-8 off their 45 overs. Jens Weir the pick of the greens bowlers with 3-43.

The reply started well with Keeble scoring a fluent 14 but 3 quick wickets saw the Green slip to 35-3. Stephen Nunn held the innings together by pulling and cutting his way to 50 but when he fell for 63 the game hung in the balance and swung in Ardleigh’s favour when Richard Nunn was spectacularly caught one handed by 71 year old Phil Bland for 18. However Jens Wair and Matt Murray showed cool heads with an unbeaten 20 run partnership to see the Green home with 2 wickets to spare.
