Match report Ahoy there! It was a good toss to win on under a blazing sun and unfortunately Copford won it. With a rock hard pitch and very short boundary the Pirates bowled & fielded well but a big score from Merry set a stiff target. Ollie Stovell was the pick of the bowlers but Matt Parker bowled 10 overs in the sweltering heat and took a great catch.

James Parker (35) set off well and was joined by the robust Andy Wads (30)in the middle overs. It was Matt Pyatt and AJ that kept the scorers busy with the former getting his first 6 and 50 before ending up with 89. AJ (38)was a delight too and could easily have got 50 with more time.

A real confidence booster for the Pirates who put out a genuine 2nd XI and best their highest score by some margin.
