Match report A largely youthful 2XI were well beaten by Abberton by 123 runs.

Abberton batted first on a hot afternoon and made 254 for 8. The innings was built on a stand of 125 for the 3rd wicket between Lingard and Rudlin, Lingard was in particurly fine form, racing to his 105 in quick time including 3 sixes, one landing on a conservatory roof in a neighbouring garden. Matt Pyatt dismissed both batsmen in successive balls with catches at long on and long off by Paul and James. The Green then took three more wickets in quick succession before a quickfire 28 from Scott saw Abberton to 254 to 8. Matt Pyatt was the pick of the bowlers taking 4-30.

Facing a challenging target, the Green needed a couple of batsman to make a big score, but although several batsmen made starts no one was able to make a score that would threaten the Abberton total. George Shephard was the notable batsmen with a highly entertaining 39 and Matt Chambers also batted well for his 24, but the Green never looked likely to overhaul the Abberton total.
