Sudbourne Hall v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Two Counties 1st XI (Saturday) on Sat 30 Apr 2011 at 1pm
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won By 144 Runs
Match report
The Green remain top of the league as their successful start to the season continues.
Winning the toss and electing to bat it was the solid start required as Keith Hammond and Will Shearman put on 102 for the first wicket. Steady contributions continued with Ali Hammond, Tom Aston and Stephen Nunn making notable scores; despite the pitch slowing up dramatically making scoring runs quickly all the more difficult.
222 always was always going to be a hard score to chase and that proved the case as Nippy and Nunny removed the openers with apparent ease. The first change of bowlers were hungry to get in on the act too as the Sudbourne batsmen did not fancy playing against Ali Hammond as he rattled up a quick 4 for, from 4 overs for 4 runs, all was set for a 5 wicket haul on his comeback match. But with only one more Sudbourne wicket remaining Tom Aston spoiled the plan by picking up the last wicket for another emphatic win.
Next up Braintree III away and hopefully a similar story.
