Snow again this week can mean only one thing ... the cricket season is FAST approaching!
Firstly some good news for the Youth section, we have secured the services of Mr Ben Stephens as out Level 2 coach for the season. He will be running all training sessions both indoors & out.
Indoor Nets.
These start on Sunday 7th April & run for 4 weeks until the 28th.
Timings are 5pm to 6pm for U11/U12/U13 and 6pm to 7pm for U14/U15/U16s.
Please arrive 5 minutes early and ready to go. £3 per session as normal.
Anyone who wants a go at U11 hardball cricket this summer should attend these sessions.
All kit provided but don't forget you need to bring your own abdomen protector (i.e. box).
Youth Fixtures.
These have all been added to the web site (www.eagcc.com).
We have entered teams in the U13/14/15 & 16 leagues but will also be playing some U11 hardball friendly matches against local clubs. I will discuss this further individually with the players involved.
Youth Training.
This will continue at Holmwood House 6.45 to 8.15 –hopefully on Tuesdays starting on 30th April.
Kwik Cricket.
Training for KC starts on Friday 3rd May from 6pm to 7pm. There are again a good selection of festivals being held throughout the district. We plan to attend a number of these but this will depend on help from parents in organising the teams at the festivals.
Players Needed.
We need more players at all ages except U14 so if you know of any boys (or girls) who might be interested please just bring them along to Indoor nets to try it out.
Help Needed.
Similar comments apply for parents to help with running U13, U11 and KC.
We are getting very stretched at the bottom end of the Youth Section and will be unable to run teams without more support. More details to follow but we are planning to use some of the older youth players to help train these younger ages but parent help will definitely be needed.
Caps & Shirts.
We will be announcing shortly a new method of ordering club gear via the website.
