With only 9 days until Senior nets begin, I thought I would take this opportunity to remind/tell you of how the sessions work and what is expected of those attending.
First of all, if you have been included in this email, you are considered to be part or the Senior Squad for 2013, and have indicated that you wish to play, either regular or occasionally, senior cricket for the club this season. If this is not the case, and you will not be playing for the mighty EAGCC in 2013, please do let me know via my email address below, so that I do not bombard you with emails throughout the season.
The indoor nets will work as follows -
- Taking place on Sunday evenings at Holmwood House from 24th March to 14th April inclusive
- The sessions will run from 7pm until 8pm
- You will receive an email inviting you to each session on the Monday or Tuesday before
- Within this email, you can select that "Yes" you will be attending, or "No" you will not be attending
- Please respond to this email by 5pm on the Saturday, the day before the session
- Please bring £3, which is the cost of the session
- If you do not respond to the email and come to nets, you will be able to bat as you will not have planned into the session
- If you say "Yes" you will be attending and do not show up, you will still owe the £3 as you will have been planned into the session
- If you do not bring your £3, you will not be able to bat, but will still owe the money
- Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts, if you do not, you may not bat as I will assume you are not coming and give your batting slot away
We are purposely running indoor nets for fewer weeks this year for 2 reasons. One being that our debut indoor season in the Braintree Indoor Cricket League has only just finished, and the second is to try and keep the focus on being ready for the season, and practicing our skills rather than these sessions descending into the chaos of bowlers trying to hit batsmen and the batsmen trying to hit the bowlers as hard as they can back over their heads! Please bear this in mind when coming to the sessions.
