Match report Another terrific batting performance saw EAG CC chase down 190 in the 35th over to secure another excellent win. Once again Jack Axon led from the front with, a player of match earning, 86 not out. With wickets falling at the other end Jack played calmly and positively steering the Green home with 6 wickets down. Jack has batted in eight games for the 2nd XI this season scoring 1 century and 6 fifties (which included scores of 99, 96, 87 and 86). His only non-landmark innings was a 47!

If truth be told we were up against it in this game after dropping numerous catches in the Colchester innings, allowing them to get to 190 - probably about 50 ahead of where they should have been. Alex Hammond starred with the ball taking 4-25 off 8 overs. James Woodcock bowled brilliantly and was unlucky to take just one wicket.

Our batting has been excellent this season and we were confident of getting the required score but lost wickets regularly throughout, whilst also being behind the required run rate. But we did enough and having captured the 10th and final Colchester wicket on the last ball of their innings the Green secured a maximum 20 points.

So it was a case of job done this weekend with room for improvement in our catching.
