Match was Abandoned

Match report In a rather disappointing end to the second XI season our match against Brightlingsea was abandoned after the first innings due to wet weather. The match was very evenly poised at that point with Brightlingsea having scored 196-5 off their 40 overs. Pick of our bowlers was Nitja Patel with 10 overs of spin for 34 runs and 2 wickets. Mark Howson entertained us with a good juggling catch and Fraser Lockhart made his debut.

The net result was EAG secured 8 points which moved us up to finish 5th in the league this year. Once again we have finished strongly (3 wins and one abandoned match in the last four) and we can be optimistic for next year - so long as we make a better start.

A big thank you to the 34 (!) players who played for the 2nd XI in the league this season. See you at the awards night on 27th September.
