Match report
EAG hosted a 4 team 6-a-side competition in glorious sunshine on the Heath. This innovative event saw all teams play in a round robin style format before eliminators were played to whittle the teams down to a champion. This meant that 9 games were played in total. There were two teams from EAG and two from the visiting Dulwich Lawnmower, who as their name suggested, turned up with a Lawnmower. Each team were allocated a national team and the Green played as South Africa and West Indies and the Lawnmower as India and Sri Lanka.
Across the two EAG teams they took part in ten matches (playing each other twice in total) winning 4 and losing 6 games. Their West Indies team made it all the way to the final only to lose on the last ball of the game due to some poor batting by Sam Collins. As the saying goes 'cricket was the winner', with all games played in a good spirit, an amazing array of shots being played, some hilarious (and less so) commentary and plenty of drinks consumed to help the EAG coffers.
Well done everyone who helped put the event on, took part on the day and came to support!
