Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost by 110 runs

Match report What a difference an overseas player makes! Witham's Muatiza contributed the small matter of an unbeaten 170 of 108 balls to quite simply bat the Green out of the match. His third fifty came from a mere 14 balls, including 28 off one over (sorry to mention that Ollie) and memories of the chastening experiences of last season came flooding back. Our overseas equivalent, aka Bevin Guthrie bowled tidily during his spell and Matt Parker generally kept the run rate down, but even his last couple of overs went for a few to spoil his economy rate and we all know what that means to Matt.
In reply, a rare appearance from Jack Smith (30) started brightly until he was unfortunately run out after which only Ollie Stovell (59) and Porky Parker (71*) made any significant contributions, although Ollie Licence (18) enjoyed some time in the middle and made his highest senior score yet; at least we kept them in the field for 40 overs, but a 110 run defeat says it all.
