Match report A superb all-round performance saw the Green grab maximum points and gain a convincing victory over the previously unbeaten league leaders.
It was a good toss to win, but your bowlers have got to make the most of what's on offer and Mark & Oli certainly did that, each grabbing four to make a real mess of the visitor's batting card. The tail was wrapped up by Ali Woodcock (best tea of the season, Mrs W, thanks) and the only available Parker (great stint of umpiring, Matt) so that Stowmarket were knocked over for exactly 100.
Batting was still challenging as the visiting bowlers posed plenty of questions, but victory was achieved for the loss of only two Hammond's, Keith to a beauty that pitched leg and hit top of off, Alex to a shot that we'd rather not spend time reflecting upon. Throughout it all, Stephen overcame all that the bowlers put before him for a confidence-building unbeaten 40-odd and victory was achieved with the sun still high in the sky and just in time for El Presidente to open his tab. Happy days.
