Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Two Counties 2nd XI (Saturday) v Kelvedon & Feering III on Mon 25 May 2015 at 13:00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost by 7 Wickets
Match report
The 2s started this match in buoyant mood, having won all their games so far and with the addition of first team regulars Hammond 1 + 2 and Nunn. It soon became clear though, that Kelvedon had a few themselves.
Batting first, EAGCC raced to 147 for 1 at drinks with Nunn (45) the first and only wicket to fall. However the innings stagnated some what, and it was thanks to 80 from Keith Hammond, 40 from Alex and some lusty blows from Woodhouse (31) to take the team up to 244 for 8.
Dropped catches early on cost the Green, with Kelvedon opener Ahearn riding his luck when faced with the bowling of Matt Parker and Will Spicer. Woodhouse's bowling went much like his batting - over the ropes for six. The bowlers were chopped and changed in an attempt to breakthrough, and wickets for Woodhouse (somehow), Nunn and Nick clawed the team a bowling point, despite an unbeaten 138 from Ahearn.
A strong effort from everyone who played, one to forget!
