Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Two Counties 2nd XI (Saturday) v Elmstead II on Sun 21 Jul 2013 at 13.00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won By 3 wickets

Match report Ahoy there! Porky's Pirates put out one of its youngest teams so far with an average age of 18 including the Johnson family the Parker family and the Murray family. The green was captained today by Matt Norris who luckily lost the toss. Therefore the Pirates opened the bowling with Matt Parker and Paul Johnson. Matt opened well getting two wickets in two overs and bowling tight for the day getting 2 wickets for 21 of 8 overs. This set the standard for bowling as throughout the innings the Pirate's only bowled 3 wides. Exceptional bowling from Nick and Matt Murray both putting on impressive figures, with Nick taking the best of the day at 2 for 38 of 10. Extremely tight fielding from the whole side but exceptional fielding from Liam Walsh who took 2 impossible catches. Olive Stovell was unfortunate to capitalise on his bowling after an unfortunate decision. After loosing two wickets quickly Elmstead did well to put out 185 on the board with good batting from Dickinson (Jesus.)

Another Parker opened, the batting this time with Matt Murray (trying to prove himself to the team.) Both wickets fell in for little runs. At this point the Pirates looked like this run chase would be a struggle. Captain Matt Norris came out to put 24 runs on then unfortunately caught and bowled. Then came in Ollie Stovell which saved and made up for the previous wickets and putting a impressive 56 runs giving the pirates hope. After the wicket of Ollie Stovell and Matt Parker whom were running very quick singles. Then came in Jamie Murray and Richard (Porky) Parker. Everybody was tense as Gordon Collen bowled very tightly to strangle the score. Richard Parker looked un-easy on the crease as the pitch worsened offering difficult bounces and movement. Jamie Murray on the other hand looked increasingly confident with the Bat as he scored heavily off there opening bowler. It came to the final over and the controversial decision from Matt Norris meant the Pirates needed four of the last over. Richard Parker guided a quick single to put Jamie on strike. 3 to win of 5 balls. It was possible. As Webster bowled what looked like a bouncer, the pitch absorbed the impact and it stayed low for Jamie to sweep for a safe and powerful four winning the match. POW (Pirate Of the Week. Not Prisoner.......) goes to Jamie Murray for keeping well and winning the game for the pirates. Also tremendous fielding and tea from Liam Walsh earns him the award as well. SMT AHOY THERE!!
