Match report Avast shipmates. The good ship Greenie ran out of shot and powder in this close fought battle. It was the green that served the first salvo, landing a rippling broadside by taking two wickets for only 8 runs after the first six overs. Having been holed below the hull, at one point Copdock were 24 for 4 wickets, but all hands were called to the pumps, leaving Peter Boughton and Nick Meakin to save the innings. Together they raked the home side with grapeshot all round the ground, putting together a partnership of 96. Lovejoy and Pace bowled very well and the fielding was excellent.

Captain Hammond top scored with 38 runs and despite some contributions from Matts Murray and Wadling, EAG could not avoid the lee-shore, running aground on the rocks of defeat. An excellent, positive attitude was displayed by all hands, including those before the mast. Lashes of the cat for E Cryne for giving Master Murray out, caught behind. And after providing a lovely tea too. Well done Greenies.
