Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won By 13 Runs

Match report The 2nd XI had a much needed win over Cavaliers by 13 runs in an exciting finish at the Green on Sunday. 14 year old Isaac Chapman made his debut for the senior teams, and proved himself very capable at this level making 9 not out and taking 2 for 20 with the ball.

Batting first the Green made a respectable 185 – 8 off their 45 overs, top scorer was Paul who made 63 (and earned himself promotion to the first team as a result!), he was supported by a patient 34 from Colin and 28 from Nathan.

In reply the Cavaliers innings was dominated by their opener Kneeshaw who batted for most of the innings for 84, however he was regularly losing partners at the other end, with all the Green’s bowlers getting wickets. Alex Enright doing particularly well taking 2-26 off his ten overs and Matt Norris taking his first wickets of the season. As the match moved into the final overs the result could have gone either way, the Skipper brought Isaac back to bowl at the end, and he repaid Kevin’s faith in him by taking the winning wicket in the 44th over.
