Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost By 7 Wickets

Match report The Academy XI played top of the table Halstead at Star Stile on Saturday and were beaten by 7 wickets.

Batting first the Green were bowled out for 165, Matt Norris was top scorer with an excellent 64, his first 50 in senior cricket. Matt received support from Stephen (26) and Jens (21)but after they were out the innings folded rather quickly. Earlier Richard and Tom batted determination againest the opening Halsted attack making 15 each.

The Green's opening bowlers, Jack and Giorgio both bowled really well, with Giorgio taking 2 early wickets. Unfortunately the Green were made to pay for dropping the Halstead batsman Clark early on as he went on to share a 3rd wicket stand of 120. Stephen eventually got him out but McBride and Baalham saw Halstead to the target with several overs to spare.
