The season ended on a high last Saturday when the 2nd XI confirmed their position as Division 9 Champions with a big win over West Mersea. There were centuries for Jack Axon and Ethan Frost in our 289-1, and we then bowled Mersea out for 126, with Nico Dormant taking 5 wickets. Jack has scored 916 runs for the 2nds this season at a remarkable average of 305 and Nico has taken 23 wickets.

We will celebrate this achievement and others at our Awards Evening this Saturday. All club members are warmly invited to come along. We will gather from 6.30pm and begin the presentations at 7pm, including the award of a Life Membership and the first winner of the Matt Murray Award.

We will also hold the draw for the 3 night holiday on Mersea Island kindly offered by Stumpy and Mark Cutter. The final raffle tickets will be on sale if you haven’t bought one. The raffle will have raised over £1000 for the club.
