Boxted on 10 overs halfway through their innings were only on 44 runs, but managed to up the run rate to a score of 115-5 from 20 overs.
Eight Ash Green with Hansana Gunasekera & Venuja Gunaratna opened and batted steadily before Venuja Gunaratna was out to the last ball of the 11th over with the score on 55. Ethan Wyatt in at number 3 increased the scoring rate, but just as it looked like he might guide us to victory he was bowled going for another hit down the ground. Requiring 9 from the last over and 4 to win from the last ball Nitya Patel swung hard and the ball sailed over the boundary towards the car park where Keith Sutton palmed the ball down before the ball could damage a car. What a time for Nitya Patel to hit his first 6. Closest youth match finish in 4 seasons that I have been involved in. Needless to say the lads were very pleased.
