Match report The final match report of the season, and a joyous one.

Some games just go like clockwork and this was one of those. We started the day (probably early in the morning giddy with excitement), 7 points behind Copford in the league table. They were finished so our task was simple - win the game and win the league. We didn't want any weather interference (we didn't get any). We wanted to bat first (we did). We wanted to get a score that West Mersea couldn't reach (we did). We wanted to bowl them out (we did).

Our victory was built on a terrific double-hundred opening partnership from Ethan Frost (103) and Jack Axon (139 not out) and our tally of 289-1 was an intimidating score. West Mersea started brightly but when Nico Dormant joined the attack the game was effectively won in a matter of overs. His 5-8 was the best bowling performance from a Green player this season. The skipper gave 9 players a bowl (!) and the game was over in the 35th over and the Green had won the title.
