Match report The second XI went into the game against bottom of the league Boxted, with our team top of the league and on the back of five straights wins. All the talk pre-game was about not taking anything for granted and ensuring we played with our usual high intensity

We certainly did this when we won the toss and decided to bat. A fluent 70 from Jake Claydon, his first for the club, was supported by 46 from Nitya Patel and another great innings from Jack Axon. Fresh from a flight from the USA, Jack was rather unlucky not to get another ton, falling on 87 late in the innings. Our star with the bat though was Connor Amos who scored an aggressive 55 not out, his first senior team half century, steering the team to 280 - 4.

Boxted started their chase slowly and cautiously and, as a result, did not look like challenging our score. However with wickets not falling the pressure mounted on the Green to try and secure full bowling points. With 2 wickets down after 24 overs the Green needed 8 wickets in the final 16 overs. Captain Collins turned rolled the dice and brought Connor Amos, Nico Dormant an himself into the attack and the innings was wrapped up in the 36th over. Boxted ended on 133 but crucially for the Green were all out and maximum 20 points were added to our seasons tally.

Connor Amos was player of the match for an excellent performance with both bat and ball, but the whole team deserve plaudits for another good all round effort.
