Gt Totham CC v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club U15 on Tue 05 Jul 2016 at 18.00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Lost by 3 wickets
Match report
EAG U15 away at Great Totham on 5 July 2016
Eight Ash Green U15’s played their second game of the season with an away visit to Great Totham. Having narrowly defeated the same side last month this looked likely to be a close match – and so it proved.
EAG won the toss and elected to bat and made a bright start with Callum McDonald and Troy Collins putting on 40 for the first wicket. Callum played particularly well with a scintillating knock of 45, including 7 boundaries. However, of the other batsmen, only William Spicer (19) was able to get into double figures and the team ended their 20 overs on 92-7. A disappointing score after a bright start.
Great Totham were quickly put on the back foot by some tight bowling from the EAG bowlers who reduced them to 19-3 after 5 overs. This then became 36-5 with Callum, following his batting exploits, with 3 wickets. Great Totham then rallied under their Captain Sam Bowen who scored an excellent 52 and, despite losing 2 more late wickets, limped past the required target of 93 with 7 wickets down, securing them a victory by 3 wickets.
Many thanks
Sam Collins
