Match report Eight Ash Green lost by 9 wickets to Clacton Ramblers is a match that was reduced to 30 overs due to the expected bad weather.
The Green lost the toss and were put in to bat with Richard Polley and Steve Nunn opening.
Once Polley was caught on the boundary, both Nunn brothers were at the crease and Richard along with Jack Smith and Matt Norris supported Steve on his way to 53, which included 7 fours and 1 six, before he was caught.
Clacton then made a breakthrough taking quick wickets before Matt Chambers, coming in at no. 9, batted sensibly to use up the overs and in the process scored 44 not out from 38 balls, leaving Clacton chasing 170.
The Green struggled to break Clacton’s opening partnership until the 12th over when Steve Nunn managed to hold onto a difficult catch off of Richard Nunn’s bowling.
After a slight delay due to rain, play resumed but the Green were unable to find the wickets they needed as Clacton batted well to achieve the total with two overs to spare.
