Eight Ash Green Cricket Club News story

Cricket Week is Nearly Upon Us!

28 Jul 2015

2015's Cricket Week is nearly here, people!

After a disappointingly wet week last year, EAGCC are ready to hit back with some cracking cricket to bring the season into the home straight. We've got plenty planned, and here is a taste of what you can expect...

WEDNESDAY 26th of AUGUST

The Essex Police Vets return to the Heath as they have done for many years to take on an EAG XI. This is always a fantastically supported fixture so let's not disappoint! Beer and BBQ after too.

THURSDAY 27th of AUGUST

We welcome an EAG Village XI to play against the club, and after there will be the eagerly anticipated annual pool competition. Make sure you brush up on the Pavilion rules (they will be printed in due course to avoid any disputes).

FRIDAY 28th of AUGUST

The first David Polley Celebration Match will be played on this day in memory of our former member and friend who sadly passed away earlier this year. This will be a fantastic day of cricket played for a fantastic cause, so come down and support - curry will be available after the game courtesy of our very own Penny Lovejoy and Helen Nunn.

SATURDAY 29th of AUGUST

The EAG 1s will take on Felixstowe Corinthians as part of their Two Counties Div 6 promotion push. This is a game not to be missed! Again, a selection of ales and the famous EAGCC Race Night to follow!

SUNDAY 30th of AUGUST

The grand finale! An EAG XI will take on the club's most recent 'Golden Generation' (Steve Nunn, Luke Keeble, Matt Norris etc) to see what damage the club's coaches have done to the game of cricket. This will be followed by a big disco as social sec Tom Lissimore and Luke Keeble celebrating their respective birthdays at the club.

Come along and support the club. More details and teamsheets will go out in the next few weeks so make sure you stay tuned!
