Two Greenies celebrated the glorious sunny weather last week by blasting quick fire  centuries. Ollie "Ginge" Lovejoy was the first, blasting 103 against Abberton Under 15s on a glorious evening at The Green on Wednesday. His ton was closely followed by TCL Skipper Ali Hammond, who hit a rapid 160+ on a sweltering day on Saturday at Mersea (!).
Local celebrity chef and part time barman Simon Lovewherry-Joy (36 from West Bergholt) was lucky enough to witness both innings and is quoted on the BBC website as saying "Its good to see some talented batsmen finally coming good for The Green. However. undoubtedly the best innings I saw over the week was clearly from Kevin "The White Bolt" Smith, whose running between the wickets is something that will live with me for a very long time indeed". Well done to both centurions (and everyone else who greatly troubled the scorers) for some cracking batting over the last week.
