Happy New Year and welcome to the first post of 2023 as EAGCC strides confidently towards carbon net zero by 2030!   As Carbon Champions we prefer ‘Deeds not Words’ but will provide brief updates on progress from now on.

Every month we estimate EAGCC’s carbon emissions (January below) and then take actions to reduce them.  Our estimates are fluid and will change as we add detail and widen scope.  For more words visit our carbon community; for more numbers go to our carbon calculator.  

Measuring covers energy, transport & food; we’re including cricket balls in 2023 too. Offsetting is through World Land Trust, with local options coming soon. Reducing transport emissions includes sharing or changing cars, using public transport, buying a club vehicle, fewer or nearer fixtures.  

We need your help now to reduce our carbon emissions and take other sustainable actions.  Our new Carbon Champions app will soon allow you to record your acts to earn rewards and compare activity with other members, clubs and communities. Watch this space to find out how!
