In another historic moment for The Green, Chairman Tim Chambers committed our club to becoming Carbon Net Zero by 2030. This followed the unanimous decision to tackle climate change at the committee meeting on 11 July.
Tim signed the declaration in the same spot that Tom Lissimore first signed our Carbon Neutral policy back in 2013. Our club has measured, reduced and offset its carbon emissions every year ever since.
“Committing to Carbon Net Zero builds on our earlier commitment in two ways. First by quantifying the reduction needed – 90% of current emissions - and second second by putting a deadline on when this has to be done - 2030,” explained Tim. “It’s a massive challenge, but by working together one our club can achieve .”
