*GREENPIECE* BAR TRAINING - EAG FEST & S.PACE SPECIAL
18 Jul 2018
A short & sweet addition this week!
1’s Knock Over Nowton
A superb Sam Pace bowling display guided the Green to 20 points on Saturday versus Div 4 ‘Nail-biters’ Nacton. Bowling on a pacey wicket Sam quickly got stuck in to the batsmen with Oli Firmin joining the fun (3-40 off 8.5). Troy Collins also grabbed his first 1XI wicket with a slower ball bouncer.. But Col Brewery Man of the Match went to Dr S. Pace for 4 wickets for 48 runs! Nacton with only 193 runs from their 40 overs managed to take wickets for themselves with the scalp's of Porky & Stuart. However, it wasn’t enough as skipper Keith & Spicer guided the Green to a comfortable victory. This Saturday the 1’s travel to Mildenhall who are just below them in the league!
2’s Return
After a luxurious 2 week break the 2’s travel to the questionably luxurious Mersea to continue their search for promotion.
Cricket Festival, Bar Help & Training
As you may not be aware the Green has been granted permission to open the Clubhouse for the Eight Ash Green Music Festival (Friday-Saturday). This also means we can open the bar up too! As most of our bar staff are playing on the Saturday we need the help of YOU to help run the bar. It might sound scary, however full training will be provided on the Friday night so you will be at ease. The training will include: general serving, using the till, using the card machine, line cleaning, stock management, tapping a keg & changing barrels. This training is free and takes place Friday evening 6PM-7PM. Even if you cannot help on the Saturday and would just like a bit of help come along! If you would like to come please reply to this email! Thanks.
