GreenPiece- BEER FESTIVAL, CENTURIES & SIGHT SCREENS

16 May 2018

A captain’s century & the return of the beer festival!

1’s Win @ Wivenhoe

In a 35 over match the Green came back with 20 points away to Wivenhoe. An outstanding knock from captain Keith Hammond ably supported by fellow Hammond Alex saw the Green post a very good total of 232 for 4 off 35 overs. The Green’s bowlers didn’t allow Wivenhoe a sniff of the win taking wickets regularly eventually bowling them all out for 103 off 25 overs. The 1s will be looking to continue their great form at home this Saturday against Felixstowe Corinthians.

2’s Rained Off

Sadly with no covers up the Green yet the 2’s game was cancelled. They go this Saturday up to Earls Colne with better weather forecast it should be a good game!

First Home Game for the Woman

After losing last week against Mistley the Green’s Woman will play their first match at home this Friday. Greenie Sue Miller is in great form scoring 77 versus the Two Counties Veterans! Their game against Sudbury kicks off at the Green at 18:00

FA Cup & Beer Festival

You have been invited to one of the biggest events of the season at Eight Ash Green CC this Saturday! We are not only showing the Royal Wedding & FA Cup Final on the big screen but as per Prince Harry's orders we are hosting a local Beer Festival for you all to enjoy!

As well as the ale we have the usual behind-the-bar classics: Carlsberg on tap, international lager & soft drinks! Coverage of the wedding begins early enough & kick off for the FA Cup is at 17:15. Long Live the Green!

A big thanks to Mick Purser, Richard, James & Matt Parker for erecting and moving the sight screens into place, no excuse now batsmen! The pictures of the assembly process can be found on our website!
