Dedham v Eight Ash Green Cricket Club U13 on Sun 12 Jul 2009 at 10.00
Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Won by 26 runs
Match report
The Under 13s finished their league programme with a convincing 26 run win at Dedham.
The Green batted first and produced a much improved batting performance from thursday night at Frinton. Nathan and Jake opened and runs were soon flowing from their bats. Nathan was in particularly good form, he hit 4 fours on his way to a retired 25. There was good support from all batsmen, Jake 10 and Sam 12 in particular. The innings closed on 104 for 4, the highest total of the season.
When Dedham batted, the Green's bowlers bowled accurately to keep the pressure on the batsmen, who were alway behind the run rate. Isaac and Matt D both took 2 wickets each, Nathan one and there were two run outs. Leighton, Lawrence and Richard each took catches, Richard's being a particularly good diving catch to dismiss Matt Murray, who was guesting for Dedham.
This was a good allround performance to finish the league season. Congratulations to all players.
