Match report A great start to the season despite a crushing defeat by friends at Copford. EAG lost the toss and were asked to bat. Several players made a good start but could not consolidate their early promise. J.Purser shone with some splendid hitting including a huge six against the opening bowler. He was out caught next ball - a memorable one handed catch at square leg.

Capt Cryne put the hosts under pressure from the start with Pace and C.Lovejoy bowling full and straight. They kept the opposition to 14 runs from the first six overs. EAG had scored 36 by this stage. Ollie Lovejoy impressed the watching crowd, his teammates and himself by taking an amazing catch to dismiss the No.2 batsman. However, every over after that went for double figures. Game over.
