Eight Ash Green Cricket Club News story

Beer Festival @ The Green 16-18th of July - Not to be missed!

11 Jul 2015

Next week sees The George Porter pavilion host the Eight Ash Green Cricket Club Beer Festival, which runs from Thursday the 16th of July to Saturday the 18th of July. On offer will be an array of cask and bottled ales from local brewers – so there will be plenty to try!

We have games running each day, including the annual EAGCC ‘Veterans’ XI vs Suffolk Over 50s and the birthday bash of the century Parkers vs PieRates. A full itinerary of the festival will be published shortly, however here is what’s planned so far…

Thursday 16 July – EAGCC Vets XI vs Suffolk Over 50s (12pm Start)

From 12pm, the EAGCC Beer Festival will kick off with one of the most prestigious games of the club year. On display will be some of EAG’s ‘vintage’ players tackling the Two Counties’ Over 50s. A light lunch will start from 12pm for players and sponsors, with the game kicking off at 2pm. As a festival opener, you can’t beat it! So make sure you turn up for this fantastic occasion!

Friday 17 July - Parkers vs PIErates 20-20 (5pm Start)

From the sublime to the, well, Friday. Somehow the Parker twins (James and Matthew) have made it through to the ripe old age of 18, and will take on the successful PieRates XI, captained by their cousin Andrew. This T20 will be up and running from 5pm and will go on well into the evening, so let your hair down and enjoy the end of the working week.

Saturday 18 July – EAGCC 2nd XI vs Youth Squad (12pm Start)

The youth are the future of the club, so they get a chance to showcase their talents with a game against Luke Keeble’s 2nd XI. A 12pm start means you can start the weekend in the most relaxing of fashions, and this is an opportunity for the youth section to understand what challenges they face in the future (both on and off the field!)

We look forward to seeing you down the club next week, as this is one festival that can’t be missed. Take that, Glasto!
