A few of you may remember that before the season began, we held a players' meeting down the Clubhouse to let you know what you're captains expected from the start of the season. Thanks to all those who attended and the following just reiterates the points that were addressed...
Overall Aim
In 2013 the club’s committee set a target for the 1st team to get promoted from Division 8 to Division 3 within 5 years. Two years on, we have a 1st team in Division 6 and a 2nd team in Division 8. So far so good!
In 2015 we believe we can maintain this momentum, looking for further promotion for the 1st team and potentially the same for the 2nd team.
Selection
This year we have by far the strongest squad of players for over a decade. This means competition for places. Captains will regularly talk about team and individual performances. We think it is essential that we look at the club from a holistic approach. Therefore the majority of players in the 2nd team should be banging on the door of the 1st team. Alternatively a 1st team player who may be out of form should see the 2nd team as a spring board to regain it.
Subs
Please, please, please can we get your subs in ASAP. The club really needs to raise money for the roller and other essential items required, allowing you to play at this fantastic club!
