EAGCC looked to maintain the momentum that has seen promotion two years running by electing new, young captains for all three teams next season. Stephen Nunn will be running the Sunday 1st XI, Luke Keeble the Saturday 2nd XI and Ali Hammond returns as 1st XI captain and Director of Senior Cricket with the tough task of driving standards to the levels needed to compete in even higher divisions.
Off the field the committee will bolstered by the return of Tom Lissimore as Social Secretary. Mick Purser joins as Clubhouse Manager and Richard Polley will be a popular VPs' Rep to build bridges with ex-players and other friends of the club. Both Penny Lovejoy and David Stovell are also helping with fund raising to get income to the levels necessary to meet the ever-growing costs of playing cricket.
The meeting thanked the hard working team last year – Kev Smith, Neil Brinded, Peter O’Donnell, Barry Nunn and Paul Johnson – which laid the foundations for next season. El Presidenté.
