... but what you can do for your club!
Eight Ash Green CC is fortunate to be supported by the great Jack Petchey Foundation which encourages young people aged 11 to 25 to get involved and help run our club in the way they’d like to see it run. If this is you, or you're a parent/ guardian or just interested in this stuff then please read on!
We’ve identified five projects where you can really make a difference to our club and help you get vital experience to bolster you personal statements and any future UCAS applications. Each project will have a manager who reports to the Executive Committee – further great experience in project control, time management, resource allocation, delegation and a host of other skills useful in life ... and to future employers. Your projects can attract Jack Petchey funding of nearly £2,000 per annum for YOU to spend on club needs! When the ‘Sugar Squad’ get moving these teams could be managing projects many times this value.
Ways you can help are ...
Carbon Champions. Luke Keeble, Ollie Stovell and Matt Parker are helping make EAGCC the first carbon neutral cricket club in England. They have created a carbon policy and action plan and now want to spend any Jack Petchey awards on the carbon saving improvements they have identified. Get involved if you want to develop your geography, environmental science or climate change knowledge or just keen to help save the planet.
Technology Team. Matt Norris and Tyler Hammond have been uploading club photos to the web site and archiving them for easy retrieval. They’re now adding other documents to provide a complete club archive and history. We can do a lot more with our web site and social media so get involved if you’re interested in IT, web sites, media studies or similar.
Coaching Crew. Ollie Stovell, Charlie Lovejoy, Matt Murray, Richard & Stephen Nunn have all been helping out at youth training and youth home matches. They have provided much needed assistance and would like to spend any Jack Petchey awards on training equipment. Get involved if you’re interested in PE, sports science or earning coaching qualifications.
Sugar’s Squad. At the moment we rely on subscriptions, match fees and the bar to fund our club. We’re missing out on BIG opportunities through grants, sponsorships, fund raising and other alternative income streams and need people to help here too. Get in touch if you’re doing business studies or just want to be Lord Sugar’s next apprentice!
To get involved or just want more info please 'Reply' to me as the Club's Jack Petchey Co-ordinator. Thank you.
