U12s Win Again

02 Jun 2012

This was another mixed team due to planned and late unavailabilities with Troy Collins & James Plummer from Kwik Cricket making up the numbers. Skipper Edward Holroyd won the toss and elected to field and was well rewarded with tight bowling and good catching which restricted Boxted to just 66 off their 20 overs.

Edmund O’Donnell took two good catches in contrast to Ed Holroyd … but his two dropped catches were off his own bowling so had no-one else to blame!  Everyone had a chance to bowl and the pick was probably Teddy Barfleet who kept an excellent length and line.

The total was not a large one but George Holroyd made it a formality with a very rapid 25 (retired) and with other batsmen chipping in the score was passed in just 10 overs.  The game went on to the dismay of the frozen parents but delight of the newer batsmen such as Jack Whitlam who got a chance to have a practice.  All did well with Tom Woodnott scoring a powerful four in a confident innings.

Thanks to players & parents for help in match management, teas & much-needed hot coffees.
