It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of David Cannon, better known as 'Cannonball'. 

David was a regular player at The Green in the 70s and 80s.  He had a very distinctive left arm round action, and opened the bowling to great effect with Bill Smith. 

Playing understandably tailed off when a growing farming business, five children and local councillor duties culminating in Mayor of Colchester in 1998-99 took priority.  

David is pictured below, away at Colco in 1977.  Three of the team (DJM, Keith Hammond and Ex Pres) represented the club at his funeral service at Fordham.
